Hello Friends! Welcome to our blog where you can view and keep up to date on some of our ski vacations across North America. One of the favorite things that we like to do is: ski. We got a late start, not really taking up snow skiing until we were in our 30s. So far, we’ve been to: Deer Valley Utah, Park City The Canyons, Aspen Colorado, Vail Colorado, Black Mountain Maine, and Whistler-Blackcomb Canada.
We will provide updates as we are able from time to time about our various adventures. A bit of information about the Black Mountaine Maine ski resort for those that may be wondering: Black Mountain is located in Western Maine roughly 4 miles from Rumford, and is a part of the Longfellow mountain range. It is conveniently located near the junction of Route 2 and 108. One of the many wonderful things about Black Mountain is its a great place for beginners and persons just starting to learn how to ski. Many other resorts rely almost exclusively on tow lines (which can tear up your ski gloves) for the beginners. Black Mountain on the other hand features a double chair w/ 4 beginner trails. But theres more to skiing at Black Mountain than just for beginners; there are also 10 intermediate, and 6 most difficult runs throughout the resort. For cross country enthusiasts, Black Mountain also features approx 22 miles of groomed trails. And it doesn’t end there: there is also 5 chutes for snow tubing fans, terrain parks, and a pipe.
Anyway, back to topic we enjoy snow skiing across the country and look forward to the opportunity of sharing our thoughts and opinions on some of the finest skiing and ski resorts located around the globe (we’re hoping to go on our first ski vacation to South America or Europe next year!).
